The stop time checks aren’t only used to determine the original distance/location of safeguarding devices. These checks must be made periodically to ensure that with time and use, the current safety distance and safeguards are in keeping with the machine’s current stopping ability.
Allied safety professionals can:
- Perform initial stop time checks on hydraulic, mechanical and press brakes to determine and provide a report of the machine’s minimum safe distance equivalents in accordance with the OSHA and ANSI requirements.
- Perform annual stop time checks on hydraulic, mechanical and press brakes to determine and provide a report of the machine’s current minimum safe distance equivalents, and identify whether the machine/safeguarding system is in compliance.
- Provide recommendations when the presses minimum safe distance is not compliant.
- Work with you to create and perform on-going annual stop time checks to meet your safety program’s requirements.
